Join us for weekly Afro-Cuban Traditional and Folkloric Dance with Live Music! Connect to the rich traditions of Afro-Cuban and Caribbean rhythm. Move your body with passion and flow. Learn from Adolfo Castillo and Lisbet Lopez, accomplished professional dancers and carriers of the culture from Guantánamo Cuba. Get ready to move, play, and challenge yourself!

What to expect at class

• Learning of invigorating dances that tell a story
• New dance modalities introduced monthly, with review of previous dances in warm-up and new cycles
• Connection between rhythm and movement with live percussion
• Improvement in dance technique applicable to any movement art genre, especially all Latin dance forms
• Enhanced mental and physical fitness
• A warm and welcoming community

All welcome​
Class is for all levels of dancers, and all ages and backgrounds. No experience necessary. Bring a water bottle and hand towel.

Registration​
All participants are added to our WhatsApp group for group communication. Weekly class registration minimum is 6.

Cost​
$15 per class if paid monthly (e.g. $60 for 4 weeks), or $20 drop-in. Sliding scale, PWYC (Pay What You Can), and punch card discounts are available. We will not turn anyone away for lack of funds.

First time students​
Register and pay in advance by Venmo (@Salsa-Ithaca) or CashApp ($SalsaIthaca). To pay by cash, check, or other means, please check the appropriate box in the registration form and we will contact you.
